Wheat Free / Gluten Free
Gluten is a protein in all wheat, rye, barley and some oat products. With increasing numbers, millions of Americans completely avoid gluten in their diets. More and more research is being conducted every year, linking gluten, and casein, a protein found in dairy products, to various diseases including Autism and Celiac disease.
Celiacs Disease is a problem digesting gluten, where your immune system harms the small intestine, preventing your body from absorbing vital nutrients that keep you healthy. Treatment focuses on avoiding all foods that have gluten. Some food labels “wheat free”, may not be gluten free. Gluten can be found in items that you would not suspect, including some medicines and vitamins.
